Lavenda Tuionetoa

Executive Director

Lavenda was born and raised in Reno, NV, graduated from Reno High School and finished her Bachelors of Science in Music at Southwestern Adventist University. Lavenda served as an Associate Director for a nonprofit in Tyler, TX and has served most of her life as a music teacher in the education field. She has spent the past 15 years in church ministry with her husband and 3 daughters. After 20 years of being away from Reno, her service is coming back to the Reno area as the Director for Caring for Angels. Lavenda desires to help more youth and is excited to grow Caring for Angels reputation in the Washoe County area. “I look forward to serving my home town again!”

Fatai Langi

Board President

Fatai M. Langi is the founder and Director of three angels care, LLC which is a therapeutic foster care agency located in Reno, Nevada. She and her husband, Raymond, have been fostering since 2012 and are big advocates for the foster care system by providing tools and resources that will enhance the lives of foster parents and foster children. She enjoys spending time traveling with her husband and three boys. Currently, she serves as the founder and President of Board of Directors for Caring For Angels. Fatai has a passion for youth to succeed, no matter what walk of life they come from. By using and living out the life motto God gifted her of ‘Unconditional Love’, she looks forward to the impact that she can make with students of Caring for Angels.

Raymond Langi

Treasurer

Raymond Langi is a native from The Friendly Islands of Tonga. He is the co-founder of 3 Angels Care, a therapeutic foster Care agency. Raymond has an accounting background and is the chief financial officer for 3 Angels Care, LLC. Together with his wife, Fatai, and their 3 boys, they continue to make an impact in the community through the founding of Caring 4 Angels and through foster parenting. Ray is a leader in the Teen Empowerment program and brings his financial expertise to the Board of Directors as the volunteer Treasurer.

Toakase Finau

Secretary

Toakase ‘Koula’ Finau, started working for 3 Angels Care in 2018 as a licensing coordinator. She spends many weekends mentoring youth in group homes, teaching them life skills geared towards independent living.

She graduated with 2 associates degrees, one in General Science and one in Community of Health Sciences and is currently pursuing a BA at UNR in Public Health.

She says, “The sacrifices and struggles my parents and grandparents faced to migrate to America is what drives me to take advantage of these opportunities afforded to me.”

Dr. Julie Begbie

Board Member

Dr. Julie Begbie is a literacy specialist and teacher researcher. She has spent nearly twenty years working with and learning about teenagers. She is honored to bring her knowledge of education, adolescents, and literacy to the Board of Directors.

Kenny DuPree

Board Member

Reno native, Kenneth DuPree II currently works as a civilian for the Nevada Military Department as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist and Special Emphasis Program Manager. He has spent over 22 years of military service in multiple fields such as finance, intelligence, personnel management and customer service.

He brings an incredible work ethic and a commitment to service by giving back to his community through this role on the board.

Stephanie Cook

Board Member

Stephanie has been a lawyer for the past 15 years and has spent her entire career in public service. She currently serves as the Deputy Public Defender at the Washoe County Public Defender’s Office. Since 2013, she has represented youth in foster care, being drawn to that career path through volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics, and acting as a youth educator, tutor and mentor. She finds it incredibly rewarding to give a voice to the voiceless and brings her compassion and experience working with vulnerable youth to the Board of Directors.
